Hell on Earth - Long exposure by matthieu-parmentier Hell on Earth - Long exposure by matthieu-parmentier
Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. The sound, the water speed, the landscape, the mist... everything around can make this place look like "Hell" on a dark and cold day like it was when I visited this waterfall.

This picture is a "long exposure". You can have a look at the "normal exposure" here. Which one do you prefer ?

Exif datas of this one to compare to the other one : 1/2 sec, f16, iso 100.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was power, the water looks so intense! Definitely the long exposure, really emphasizes how fast the current is moving.. love it wish I had been there!

I like both versions; but I like this one better. It has movement, and makes me feel I might fall right into it. Wonderfully done!

Haha, no chance of that happening! Looking at it through the monitor is too close in my opinion! (at the same time, the best view in the house! )

I love this one a lot,  you can really get a sense of motion....the other one looks frozen as if it got really cold and all the water froze in place. So this one is my favourite and it gets a fave too :-) I think when capturing moving water you want to use a long exposure to avoid that frozen in time look.....you want to see motion. :-) Wonderful work.

Nice! I like the long exposure over the normal exposure. It is quite a powerful waterfall. I also found it a very difficult waterfall to photograph.

Yes you're right, it was not so easy to photograph. I tried both sides of the river, and couldn't manage to do it on the other side as I got went in 1 or 2 seconds maximum :D.

Can you tell me the EXIF of the two photos; The "long" and "normal" exposure time?
I personally like this one better because the sense of motion in the water is gorgeous, when, in the other photo the water is "frozen" in time, without any moving and needing something. BTW your work is perfect :)

Thanks a lot for your comment and answer ! :D You're right this version is more "gorgeous" and attractive than the other one.
I added the exif datas on pictures texts. The main difference is that this one is 1/2 sec (not so "long" in fact) and the other one is 1/40 sec.
